I used to go horseback riding, jumping, in local competitions. So, I have a feeling of what it is like controlling a horse. This is off the charts. Amazing!
Even if you don’t ordinarily like horses, you will love this clip. You’ll even forget she’s a horse! This is truly amazing stuff.
This is a video of Andreas Helgstrand and his 9 year-old mare, Matinee, at the World Equestrian Games in Denmark . It is the Musical Freestyle Dressage competition, and Andreas and Matinee pretty much wiped the floor with everyone else.
In case you don’t know, the sort of balance, coordination, control, and ability to recall the step pattern of such a complicated routine that she exhibits here is extremely rare in such a large animal. Matinee is clearly having a blast! What a delightful performance!
Turn up the sound and watch this beautiful gray mare dance. She knows where the beat is, and she’s a Vision of grace and power. Don’t miss her tail action with the music.

actually they came in 2nd place! they did rock the house though.
the tail swishing is actually a severe flaw, seen as a sign of resistance and tension. could just be her little quirky habit though.
she has been injured and has yet to return to this level, but still is a possibility for the Olympics.
