Go figure, our mommies were right!  As usual!

According to Farmer’s Almanac:

It’s true: Hot chicken soup and lots of garlic help reduce cold symptoms. This is now a scientific proven fact.

And some studies suggest that virtually any way to inhale steam is beneficial. So, savoring a steaming cup of herbal tea may be a good idea. Or, inhale the delicious aroma of that chicken soup cooking on the stove.

Other home remedies said to prevent colds in the first place are: garlic, onions, thyme, sage, and vitamin C, used regularly. Or, if you dare, a daily sandwich of whole-wheat bread, raw yellow onion, a half-inch of horseradish, slice of meat, cheddar cheese, and brown mustard. According to old-timers, this really works!

Oh Wow!  Now that sounds absolutely totally delicious. I could go for that.

Fatigued…Are you just too tired?

Information No Comments »

According to the experts: A few reasons why you are tired…

Cell phones:  Many people talk way too much on their cell phones and cause themselves stress because they feel they are obligated to answer each call, or return each massage…INSTANTLY.  That isn’t so.  You can answer and return a call in a timelier manner, and, thereby less stress, and less fatigue.

Stress: Stressed out?  Try talking to someone…actually; try venting with a trusted friend.  Not for advice, or input, but, just to vent.  Many of us get tired because we “replay” in our minds the many stressful moments of the day.

Weight:  Try wearing 10 - 20 - 30 pound weights while going through your day.  Get it?  See how tiring it is?  Lose your extra weight; get healthy and fit.  Get more energy!

Dehydrated:  Many of us do get dehydrated…like my doctor advised me…if your urine is very dark, drink more water!

A small volume published in 1956 entitled Anguish Languish by Howard Chace is full of fun items such as fairy tales and poems and songs. English words are substituted for other English words, and a familiar tale or poem is retold.
The story “Ladle Rat Rotten Hut” (Little Red Riding Hood) is one of the “furry tells” (fairy tales). It begins “Wants pawn term…” (Once upon a time…)
If you would like to pursue this, the entire book is:
